Library Management and Communications Specialist within the "Living Library" Program

Role as Communications Specialist: My role involved engaging with participants, organizing events, and ensuring effective communication between the participants and the audience. Additionally, I played a key part in promoting the program’s core messages related to cultural diversity and tolerance. My responsibilities also included coordinating with other teams to organize educational activities and workshops that promote human rights and cultural diversity.

I served as the Library Manager and Communications Specialist for six months within the “Living Library” program. This initiative aims to combat social prejudices and support marginalized communities by creating an interactive environment where individuals become “living books,” sharing their personal experiences to challenge stereotypes and discrimination. During this program, I managed and coordinated events that provided a platform for people to exchange their stories and raise awareness about human rights, tolerance, and social inclusion.

Living Library at Yaga Gathering Festival 2024

One of the most significant events I coordinated was the participation of “Living Library” at the Yaga Gathering Festival, one of the most important festivals in Lithuania. I worked on the coordination between our team and the festival management, ensuring our invitation to be part of this impactful event. Seven “Living Books” shared their personal stories, engaging festival visitors in meaningful conversations and creating an inspiring and memorable experience. This event highlighted the importance of challenging stereotypes and promoting better understanding.

Living Library⎮Cultural Night 2024

This event, which I had the privilege of organizing, took place on June 7, 2024, as part of the annual Cultural Night. It aimed to create a positive atmosphere through heartfelt conversations, reduce social exclusion, and celebrate diversity by listening to the stories shared by “Living Books.” The event was held at “Mano Guru” salad bar in Vilnius, where participants engaged in meaningful discussions that fostered understanding and unity.

Exploring Human Stories at Vilnius Book Fair!

This event, which I had the honor of leading, is considered one of the most important events as it participated in the annual Vilnius Book Fair. It took place in 2023 and offered a platform for sharing personal stories through the “Living Library” concept, breaking stereotypes, and fostering a deeper understanding of diverse human experiences.

Your Wish is Heard: An Evening at CHATA!

A memorable evening celebrating unity, dreams, and connections through art and storytelling. Volunteers, migrant friends, and participants shared stories, snacks, and hopes for the future. The evening was marked by colorful expressions on an interactive whiteboard, symbolizing shared aspirations and reflections on 2023’s achievements.
